Partner roles explained: Organisers vs Promoters

The FirstMove Partner Ecosystem has two distinct roles. Understanding which role fits your goals is the first step to getting the most out of the platform.

Organisers

An Organiser is a business, venue, or event creator who hosts events through FirstMove. As an Organiser you can:

  • Create, edit, and publish events

  • Define ticket types and pricing

  • Manage Vibe Zones at your venue

  • View attendee lists and booking data

  • List events on the Marketplace for Promoters to discover

  • Track revenue and receive payouts

  • Build and manage a team with role-based permissions

Organisers are the supply side of the ecosystem — they create the experiences that drive engagement.

Promoters

A Promoter is an individual or agency that markets events on behalf of Organisers. As a Promoter you can:

  • Browse the Marketplace for events to promote

  • Apply to promote events that match your audience

  • Access approved promotion assets (images, copy, and more)

  • Track your active promotions and performance stats

  • Earn commission on every sale driven through your promotion

Promoters are the demand side — they amplify events and grow the audience.

Can I be both?

Yes. Your account can operate in both roles. Your dashboard will show the relevant sections for each active role. Complete both onboarding flows to unlock all features.

Which role should I choose?

  • Choose Organiser if you run events, own a venue, or manage a brand experience.

  • Choose Promoter if you have an audience and want to earn by promoting others' events.

  • Choose both if you want to host your own events and promote others at the same time.
